Our Washed Tree-Pit Subsoil (E) is best described as a non-saline, stone free sand with a narrow particle size distribution. The very free-draining nature of this subsoil is confirmed by the predominance of medium sand (0.25-0.50mm) and the saturated hydraulic conductivity of 621mm/hr.
This Subsoil is ideal for use as a Washed Tree Pit Subsoil and a wide range of landscape applications, including the planting of larger root-balled trees in both soft and hard landscape situations, podium schemes and formal/high-use grass lawns. Further uses include as a Subsoil for SuDS Rain Gardens and SuDS Bio Retention Systems.
